Located on the north shore of Massachusetts in Essex County lies the coastal town of Ipswich. Ipswich is comprised of a population of approximately 14,000 and is home to the well known Sandy Point State Reservation which includes a portion of Plum Island. Ipswich is chiefly a residential community that is noted for tourism and renowned for its clams that are promoted each year at the Ipswich Chowderfest. Crane Beach is also a popular destination for Bostonians being among one of the most gorgeous and well known beaches on the north shore in the summertime.
As far as education goes, the Ipswich High School has often been regarded as one of the best in the area with some of the highest graduation rates in the state of Massachusetts. The public schools have a great performing arts program and in the year 2005, the high school was awarded the designation of a “Blue Ribbon” school, an award for national excellence in education.
