Spread over nearly 15 square miles, Middleton is a town north of Boston in Essex County with a population of roughly 9,000. Once a part of Salem and Andover, Middleton got its name from its location as it was midway between these two towns. Historically Middleton was a vacation area for residents of nearby Lawrence and Lowell.
Today Middleton is a fast growing community. Primarily residential, the town shares Masconomet Regional High School with both nearby Boxford and Topsfield. Easily accessed by Route 95, Middleton is considered a wealthier town that is sought after by those looking to live in close proximity to Boston, the Massachusetts shore line and with easy access to major routes.
